A select group of Grade 4 students of the Our Lady of the Pines Primary School through Principal, Judy Abbott, librarian Theresa Platt and teachers Karen Craven, Frank Piccione and Guilla Costa were able to gather the supplies for the children of BASA (Bayan Akayin sa Abot Tanaw). Notebooks, padpapers, clipboards, sharpeners, markers (e.g., ballpens, pentel pens, crayolas, color pencils], children’s story books, pencil cases, among others, were neatly packed in 3 boxes and, through the kindness of Gilda Guillermo, were brought to the Philippines last December 2006. The 3rd ballikbayan box arrived in Philippines in mid-January 2007, shipment fee of which was paid for by Don Bosco Australia through Thor Brizuela. Inside were more children’s books, school supplies and clothes donated by the families of de Guzmans, Abellas, Garcias, Parels, del Rosarios and Chambers; lunch boxes were courtesy of the Harbinsons through Ollie.

Kids at work!
prior to the distribution of the goods, the BASA children were given a seminar on drawing, arts & crafts
All these materialized through the inspiration, enthusiasm and over-all coordination spearheaded by couple Meg & Vic Belmonte with children Alejandro and Andrea.
More power to all of you and we truly thank you in behalf of BASA and the student-recipients from Karangalan Elementary School, Cainta, Rizal, Philippines
